As per the current statistics, 30% of food items are perished even before reaching the end customer. Major part of this damage happens during transit from producer to customer. Manufacturing organizations have identified this issue and have asked distributors to have a live monitoring of the temperature of the refrigerated vehicle on transit. Payments were linked to the compliance report generated at the end of the trip. The distributor had approached RIOD for a solution to ensure compliance.

More than a single device, the customer wanted a scalable solution that was scalable, rugged and meets all his requirements. RIOD Logic already had a product that monitored Temperature and Humidity. This device sends data to the cloud for structured visualization, monitoring and reporting. RIOD enhanced this functionality by customizing to the specific requirement. Considering the operating environment, the enclosure was changed to IP65 to avoid device damages due to  water and dust. Engineers installed the devices identifying the right position in the vehicle. Cloud page was monitored with right alert and notifications through SMS and Email. Graphical representation and multi-format reporting was incorporated for ensuring compliance.

  • RIOD helped the customer to enhance their existing product to meet the customer requirement
  • Re-modelled the enclosure of the device to be IP65 to resist Water and Dust from entering device and thus affecting the accuracy of the monitoring.
  • Cloud application was customized for visual representation of live data
  • Reporting options in different formats were made available for easy opearation
  • Alerts and notifications were configured for the distributor to identify any environmental changes. They can alert the vehicle team for appropriate actions.

RIOD Helps Wind-Turbine Customer to Monitor Energy generation for Forecasting.

Wind power accounts for nearly 10% of India’s total installed power generation capacity and generated 62.03 TWh in the fiscal year 2018-19, which is nearly 4% of total electricity generation.

One of the leading wind turbine power generation organization had a challenge of having live data of power generated. This data helps the central team and quality analyzers to forecast the power generation and provide the data to the government.

  • RIOD reviewed the technical specifications of the Energy meter used in the windmill turbines
  • Identified the MODBUS parameters required for the live monitoring
  • Used the product RD40 to acquire the parameters to send to the MqTT broker
  • Tested the acquired data for accuracy and timeliness
  • Provided inputs for data analytics and forecasting
